Service Technician-Commercial Laundry Equipment Garment Machinery Company Inc, of Cambridge Massachusetts is an industry leader in the distribution and service of laundry equipment since 1940. We offer a career, not just a job. We are currently seeking a Service Technician to assist us in our busy service department. This position will involve the repair and maintenance of commercial laundry equipment at customer locations in New England. Persons filling this position will provide on-time service, quality repairs, customer service and operational safety. Qualifications: The ability to work independently effectively in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and efficiency Good communication and people skills Good organizational and problem solving skills Working knowledge of plumbing and venting issues Ability to lift and/or carry heavy items when necessary Ability to distinguish wire color coding Ability to aurally diagnose problems Ability to maneuver in restrictive areas Ability to use manuals for referencing part numbers, verifying wiring with diagrams, assembly and disassembly of equipment Valid driveršs license with a clean driving record Solid map skills and the ability to follow travel directions Willingness to submit a background check to include a drug test Minimum of 2 years experience in a service or repair environment preferred High school degree or equivalent required Laundry equipment repair training is a plus Duties will include: Maintain laundry equipment in the field, insuring maintenance and operability Effectively test, troubleshoot and diagnose problems in the field Maintain safe and secure work environment by following company standards and procedures Ensure that service calls are handled quickly and correctly with positive results Verify system functioning by testing equipment and connections Provide customer satisfaction with owner or manager through courteous and efficient service Promote future business and equipment sales Communication with employee team members and customers through appropriate use of devices such as radios and telephones Organize and maintain a proper truck inventory of parts needed and anticipate needs for jobs Ensure that company-owned vehicles receive regular maintenance Maintain job knowledge with new equipment and products Prepare written accounts of completed service orders in company format in a timely manner Assist with other service-related assignments as needed |
